About us

The Scanwell Group was formed in 1981 initially with offices located in Hong Kong and New York concentrating on the trans-pacific market. The group has since expanded rapidly based initially on the immense trans-Pacific trade that has led us to a current US network of 13 offices and a China mainland network of 14 offices since its introduction in Shanghai in 1994.

The global network now stands at some 72 offices from which we can offer coverage of all the major gateways in China and the USA as well as South East Asia, the Indian Sub-Continent, Canada, Europe and Scandinavia. In addition to this we have strategic alliances in Australasia, South America and Africa allowing us to provide global logistics solutions.

The Scanwell Logistics brand was launched in the U.K. in 2007 and made an immediate impact on the global network by opening up the well established shipping lanes to and from the U.K. The Head Office is based in Felixstowe, the U.K.’s premier seaport , with our Air freight office being based in Colnbrook, directly adjacent to London Heathrow airport. We operate our Customs approved warehouse from our premises in Basildon which is also home to our U.K. and European pallet, part and full load distribution services.
